Logging transactions fast
Logging your own spending is the deal you make for a budget that's always honest and never needs your bank login. Climb's job is to make that deal cheap: a routine purchase should cost you a few seconds, and the predictable ones should cost you nothing.
Presets: the two-tap transaction
A preset is a transaction with everything prefilled: payee, account, category, even memo and tags. Your morning coffee, the usual grocery store, the gas station. Logging one is two taps and an amount.
Mark your most-used presets as favorites and they're right under your thumb on mobile: press and hold the add button and your favorites fan out around it. Presets are managed in Settings, and they're worth setting up in your first week; a handful of presets covers most of a normal life.
Scheduled transactions: the zero-tap kind
Bills that repeat (rent, subscriptions, insurance) can be scheduled: set the amount, the frequency, and the due date, and the Logbook shows what's coming. Scheduled transactions can post themselves automatically when due, or wait for your confirmation if you prefer to stay hands-on.
For bills that repeat but vary, like a utility bill, leave the amount open and fill in the real number when it posts.
The habit that makes it work
Log close to the moment: walking out of the store, in the car, at the counter. It works with zero signal, and a transaction logged now is one you won't be reconstructing from a bank statement later. Then reconciling becomes a five-minute confirmation instead of a memory test.
